Interesting Facts About Radiant Floor Heat - Article

Interesting Facts About Radiant Floor Heat

Radiant heating system is getting more and more popular these days. It is a tool of warming a room by heating one of its surfaces such as walls or a floor. The previous method of warming was equipped with radiators that were located in the corners of the room. But the difficulty with this system was that to heat the whole room they needed to get very hot, and if a person touched them by chance he could get burned. One more disadvantage of this technique was that they heated the room irregularly, mostly the space around them when simultaneously in the opposite corner of the room it was still cold. The contemporary method of radiant heating is totally different because of utilizing broad surfaces. The principle of operation of system is founded on thermal radiation and is similar to the previous systems. Temperature and heating radiation are characteristics of any article. The ability of items to take up heat from nearby structures allows to use radiant floor heating to warm your feet, for example. Another method of heating is usually called forced air procedure. Its function is to blow warmed air into the rooms. The minus of this technique is that forced air stirs up particles of different origin: dust, mold and others, so this system can not be applied in the houses where people with allergies live. Moreover, hot air has only local action, it doesn't warm the room. As for radiant heating technique, it is constructed to let the heat rise uniformly from the floor, in such a way, the room is heated evenly and supports the temperature during longer period of time. The radiant heating method is highly efficient in large houses. Forced air method works for small houses, but take into account allergy problems. Make sure your home is well-insulated, so the heat won't be lost through windows chinks or ceiling. There are three kinds of radiant heating: electric system based on electric cables, air system founded on hot air under the floor, and hydronics founded on the application of hot water under the floor. Heating techniques are numerous and it's your right to decide which one is right for you. But as the practice shows the most effective way to warm a house is radiant heating.
